2012 and beyond
Q1 HRT and Marussia with only days remaining until the F1 returns have passed the final FIA crash tests. What do you make of their delayed start to the season and will this have an effect on 2012 and future seasons for the teams?
@edd1969
We need to keep the great tracks and lose the poor ones! i.e. SPA ! European GP is no longer needed now! One country, one race max!
@NigelBeechey
Delayed starts cannot help. No matter what stage they were at before car launches and testing began, there can be no substitute for test miles and shake downs. I'm sure they'll be in the game but not so sure how quick they'll be up to speed -literally.
Q2 With several teams completing several 'filming days' before the season begins should this be allowed or is it just a way for the teams to get a few sneaky test laps in without being at a test session?
@hedgeryhoops
Filming days - very sneaky. HRT and Pedro de la Rosa's comments seemed to have made it very obvious that they were using it as a 'mini test'. Shouldn't be allowed. Filming hours should be restricted to testing days only.
@jo_johnson63
Filming days are just to sneak in an extra test run I think. Shouldn't the car launch day be the 'filming day'?
@NotOptaF1
No shouldn’t be allowed. 7- Number of ‘illegal’test days the top 3 teams will conduct during the season. Loophole.
Q3 2012 is rumoured to be the last year that both Catalunya and Valencia feature in the race calendar; what is your view on this and will this bring the end of the European GP?
@JackLeslieF1
Yes sadly I think the European GP tag will end. But to be fair any race on the calendar in Europe could be classed as it. Valencia is boring so I am glad we won’t see it every year, and Barca is used regularly for tests anyway so it won’t fall back too much.
@MarussiaF1Will
I'll miss Catalunya because it's a good race track, I won't miss Valencia after last year's dreadful race. I don't want it to be the end of the European race, maybe having it held at Imola or some other country?
@rkid84
Personally not too bothered about the European GP, but Valencia is an appalling track, Barcelona is still worthy of its place on the calendar.
Extra Q! Now that all of the liveries have been revealed which is your favourite and which one do you like the least?
@StephanieWeiser
The RB8 looks fears! Love it! Not much of a red-white-gold fan…so I really don’t like the HRT livery, sorry.
@EmThEmu
Worst goes to Sauber, it looks like it was made on Microsoft Paint. Best goes to Lotus because the black and beige (doesn't look gold) just looks so pretty under lights!

Apologies that there is no music to accompany this video; The Fan Formula team had several technical issues with this episode. Apologies for a few snippets which appear to have uploaded without sound (@eyeofalexg1977 and @GeorgeHDaviesF1).
Hopefully all of these difficulties will be overcome for the next upload but for now I apologise for the several issues.

Q1 What is it about F1 as a sport that you love and what do you hope this season will bring?
@JackLeslieF1
I just love the drama, the action, the excitement and the overall beauty and design of the sport. It is so precise and the drivers have such skill that i admire. I have been captivated since 2000 and i honestly love it, and now i get to write about it too! Win, win eh?
@SamOssie
I love the action. High speed, wheel to wheel action, do or die overtakes and people driving out of their skins so I hope that 2012 brings a closer field and more overtaking.
@jo_johnson63
I can't explain why I love formula one. There are so many reasons; the noise, the speed, the cars, the teamwork, getting to know the drivers and their teams and above all just the excitement of watching.
This season I hope it is more than a one horse race for the title not just Seb going off into the distance. I would like to see him fight for position. I am also looking forward to Lewis hopefully returning to form.
Q2 What team/driver do you support and why did you choose to support them?
@NigelBeechey
I've always supported Mclaren.. Through thick and thin. Always lived close to them, know people who work /have worked there. Been round their Sheerwater factory too. Even with the negative stories, it’s all just that bit more personal to me. Now someone help me get a tour of the MTC please...
@donz358
I’d bring back refuelling as it made pit stops more exciting. I’d ban the stepped noses as they’ve spoilt the look of a beautiful car. I’d also allowmore backstage filming of the team meetings etc. for fans to see what F1 is eeally like - within reason of course ;-)
@rkid84
Jenson Button, hes a local(ish) lad, always liked his attitude & driving skills, even if some previous bosses didn't!
Q3 If you could be in charge of F1 for the day what three rules would you put into the sport?
@MarussiaF1Will
For the three rules I'd put in is making sure everyone runs in Q3 so they're not sat in the garages saving tyres. I'd remove the rule saying you've got to use two different tyre compounds in the race, is good for strategy but can be annoying at the same time. I'd also remove the rule in Q3 where you have to start the race on the tyres you qualified on.
@Iceladyy
I think I would allow refuelling again because I really liked that and I would also change the points system back to what it was so the winner gets 10 points , the second place gets 8 points and so on. To be honest I couldn't think of a third rule!
@NotOptaF1
Kimi Raikkonen must eat 5 ice creams during the course of qualifying in order to make the grid. Iceman.
BONUS
If you were a team principal which two drivers would you want to drive for you and why?
@EmTheEmu
Robert Kubica if he ever got back to full fitness, as he was quick as well as consistent. And Fernando Alonso because he's proven to be quick in inferior cars. How they'd work together is another matter...
@TashaDragonfly
It'd have to be Vettel and Petrov...or Vettel and Alonso.
