Mundane mugello
question 1
Did you take much interest into the test at Mugello or would you rather just wait and see the developments which have been made when the teams bring them to Barcelona?
@JoshBohnF1 : Mclaren needed to give test drivers some action! But could have given main drivers a day with new updates!
@TheCrazyCaptain : I have paid NO attention to testing.
@Icywingsuk : The test is interesting, but being mid-week makes it harder to follow. That said, Internet blogs and twitter made it easier than in the past and showed the power of the online F1 community and a more personal reporting style, as individual teams, as well as the usual channels kept fans updated during the test. The resulting developments will be good to see in Spain, and hopefully the teams shall remain fairly close in performance, so as to keep the show good to watch.
@hedgeryhoops : I took a little interest in the Mugello test, but not as much as the pre-season tests for a number of reasons. I would have taken more notice to be honest if McLaren sent the A-Team there, plus when the testing started, it was raining! Not much to see then!
@ChrisJ_F1 : I didn't read too much into it, between teams using test drivers and the variety of factors that alter the pace, I don't think a lot of judgement can be made. I was more interested in the different Aero sensory rigs the teams bring, looks like scaffolding on the side of a car!

question 2
Do you think it was a mistake by the McLaren team to not use either Jenson Button or Lewis Hamilton over the test especially seeing that Hamilton stated a particular need and interest to go?
@GeorgeHDaviesF1 : DC once said he always wanted to drive the car at every opportunity. On the one hand, its beneficial to have reserve/test drivers capable of standing in for race drivers but, Button & Hamilton know what route they want to go down development wise more than Paffett & Turvey.
@NigelBeechey : I must accept that the team knows its stuff. I would imagine it was a mistake but they must have had good reason not to go. I presume it wasnt necessary -lets hope so anyway. Quietly, hugely, confident :o) Infact, I cant wait for Friday and the weekends action. Ace up their sleeve?
@jo_johnson63 : McLaren on the whole seem pretty confident with their car but having said that I think they should have had both drivers there anyway, even to practise pit stops which at the moment are very slow compared to the rest of the leading teams. I Suppose it gave the reserve drivers valuable track time away from the pressure and pace of a Grand Prix environment though.
@DarshanChokhani : In normal circumstances it is believed that in-season testing is mostly used to give the reserves a go and that's what McLaren did. However with such mixed races, I think either Button or Lewis should have got a day there. But on the other hand Button had a valid point in not coming there as well. As for Hamilton, really not sure how much he wanted to test in Mugello.

question 3
What do you make of Petrov's comments about the Mugello circuit and do you agree and why?
@RobLMyers : I'd hate to see teams not run on high speed circuits like Mugello. Petrov's comments about limited run off could certainly apply to Monaco and, in places, Spa - two tracks that are classics. I'm sure that Petrov is in a minority of one - most of the drivers enjoy the high speed tracks.
@NotOptaF1 : Pointless. 3 - Vitaly Petrov will compete in F1 for a further 3 seasons before anyone takes him seriously. Funnyman.
@MarussiaF1Will : I don't agree, I like the Mugello track and would like to see it on the calendar one day.
@rkid84 : The majority of the drivers appeared happy with the circuit, it has to be a certain standard to run the cars, so no problem. There are plenty of race tracks with narrower race tracks so just keep your wheels on the grey stuff and don't crash, simple. As Mark Webber put #realtracks

bonus
Do you think that because the teams use Barcalona to test that there isn't as much excitement about set up as the teams are quite aware of how their car performs at that track?
@Donz358 : I think most of the teams will bring some form of car modification to Barcelona so the excitement is still there. I think we might start to see some of the top teams pull away from the rest of the pack from this weekend onwards.
@TheSixYearItch : Yeah I totally agree, there's no real need for them to do laps and laps of practice as they already know what the track is like, I think they should Test the cars at tracks other than ones they race at as it can be quite predicatable.
@TashaDragonfly : I think there's always going to be excitement about new set ups - especially in a season like this - when the cars go back to the track.
